Who brings their kids to Pickathon? Well, when looking at the attendance numbers, quite a few of you! Roughly one in every eight attendees is a teenager, kid, or toddler. Nearly 1,000 of our annual audience are kids under 12 (who are FREE at Pickathon when coming with the family), and a couple hundred of you are teens (who attend at a 50% discounted rate with our special Teen Ticket).

In 2016 we’re bringing back pretty much all of the folks that have helped us shape such an amazing & inclusive environment over the past several years. New this year we’ll be adding another kids’ tent which will host the newly named Wild Horse Stage. Below is a quick look at what to expect & where to find these great folks this summer.

Windmill Hill – Classes, crafts, chill zones, kinder-camp and day care – arranged while you setup or teardown camp – are a few of the highlights that will be offered as part of our daily activities on Windmill Hill. Join hosts Cedarwood Waldorf School, Signal Fire Art Crew, Mother Earth School, and City Repair at this lovely top-of-the-hill location for three full days of enriching experiences.

Wild Horse Meadow – Kids can immerse themselves throughout the day with the amazing staff of Trackers Earth. Teaching wilderness awareness & survival, animal tracking, plant identification, fiber arts, and of course the incredibly popular foam bow & arrow training. This is the spot for any aspiring adventurer at Pickathon.

The Big Top – Yet another year of intensive circus training for our little ones with Circus Cascadia! Three full days of Interactive Family Circus Workshops, Clowns, Circus Cascadia Shows, and the massive Pickathon Kids Circus Show – don’t miss out!

Wild Horse Stage – A brand new stage and tent setup specifically for the kiddos! Music and Workshops on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8am-3pm. Hosted by our esteemed Kids at Pickathon leaders Mr. Ben & Red Yarn, the Wild Horse Stage is set up for the entire family. Join us each day for special performances by – Mr. Ben, Red Yarn, Johnny & Jason, Mo Phillips, Sharp Marshmallows (feat. Matt Sheehy & Sarah Fennell), It’s A Girl! (feat. Laura Gibson & Adam Shearer), the Family Square Dance with Caroline Oakley, Matt Point Hoo, and the Superjam! Workshops throughout the day conducted by Music Together, My Voice Music, and Make Your Own Instrument.

Now that you know the who, what, where, and when… let’s get on to the how shall we? Pick up your tickets today and start planning your very own Pickathon Summer Vacation… Your favorite weekend of the year for all the right reasons, equal parts Summer Camp, Music Festival, and Family Reunion (without the green bean casserole).
