To be considered as a 2010 Pickahon Volunteer, follow the steps below. 2010 Pickathon Volunteers are chosen on a first-come-first-serve basis. You will receive one free weekend pass which includes camping but does not include parking. Every effort will be made to match up your preferences and past experience with one of the Pickathon crews.


Step 1 --> Yes, I am a returning Pickathon Volunteer.  
It's ok if you haven't, but non-returnees will have to submit a deposit of $150 in the form of a personal check. If you are confirmed as a vounteer and show up for your scheduled shifts, we will shred the check.

Step 2 -->   Rank your preferences. You DO NOT have to RANK ALL, but fill out AT LEAST ONE.
 
2010 General Volunteers # Rank 1-7 (1 is top preference)
**2010 General Volunteer positions are currently FULL. All interested applicants will be placed on a WAIT-LIST ONLY. **

You will be assigned to 2 4-hour shifts (except for Friday 11-4 shift which is 5 hours) on Thursday (August 5) from 4 to 8, Friday (August 6) 11 am to 4, 4 to 8 and 8 to midnight, Saturday (August 7) and Sunday (August 8) 8 am to noon, noon to 4, 4 to 8 or 8 to midnight. Jobs include ticketing, parking, and monitoring the camping area and pedestrian and backstage entrances. There is also an opportunity to work 1 8-hour shift to monitor the main stage from midnight to 8 am Fri., Sat., or Sun. In the box to your right please indicate if you would be interested in the midnight to 8 am shift and enter any days and shifts you are not available to work. Also enter names of folks you would like to be scheduled with and any other preferences or comments.

2010 Set-Up/Tear-Down # Rank 1-7 (1 is top preference)

"2010 Set-up/Tear-Down Volunteer applicants will be placed on a WAIT-LIST ONLY. UNLESS you are available for Monday 7/26, Tuesday 7/27, Monday 8/2, Tuesday 8/3, Monday 8/9, Tuesday 8/10. Please list your specific availability in your application."

You will be assigned to 2 EIGHT HOUR shifts during the weeks before or after Pickathon. Available shifts are as follows: SET UP-July 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, August 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. TEAR DOWN-August 9, 10, 11, 12. Each day is made up of one 8 hour shift from 10am-7pm with a break for lunch in the middle. Set Up/Tear Down volunteers miss no music during the weekend, and this is the primary reason for the hours needed to fulfill the volunteer obligations. The tasks that are incorporated with SET UP/TEAR DOWN are numerous and often involve some pretty hard labor.

2010 Beer Garden # Rank 1-7 (1 is top preference)
You will be assigned to 2 SIX HOUR shifts during the Pickathon weekend (August 6 - August 8). Available shifts are as follows: Galaxy Barn Beer Garden - August 6: 4:30-10:30pm, 10pm-2:30am. August 7: 11am-5pm, 4:30-10:30pm, 10pm-2:30am. August 8: 11am-5pm, 4:30-10:30pm, 10pm-2:30am. Mountain View Beer Garden - August 6: 12pm-6pm, 6pm-12am. August 7: 12pm-6pm, 6pm-12am. August 8: 12pm-6pm, 6pm-12am. Beer Garden Volunteers will need to obtain and supply proof of a current OLCC servers license if pouring beer. 2010 Recycling # Rank 1-7 (1 is top preference)

**2010 Recycling Volunteer positions are currently FULL. All interested applicants will be placed on a WAIT-LIST ONLY. **

You will be assigned to 2 FOUR HOUR shifts during the Pickathon weekend (August 5 - August 8). Shift responsibilities include either set-up, collections, recycling station monitoring, or break down. Available shifts are as follows: August 5 (Thursday): 1:00pm-5:00pm (set up). August 6(Friday): 10:30am-2:30 pm, 2:30-6:30pm, 6:15-10:15pm, 10:00pm-2:00am August 7(Saturday): 7:00 -11:00am, 10:45am-2:45pm, 2:30-6:30pm, 6:15-10:15pm, 10:00pm-2:00am. August 8(Sunday): 7:00 -11:00am, 10:45am-2:45pm, 2:30-6:30pm, 6:15-10:15pm, 10:00pm-2:00am. August 9(Monday): 8:00am-4:00pm (tear down). 2010 Hospitality Crew # Rank 1-7 (1 is top preference)
Requirements for Hospitality Volunteers are as follows: You currently hold a food handlers card, are a fun and outgoing personality, have hospitality in your blood, and have worked in the Restaurant / Catering / Bar industry in the Past 2 years. You will be assigned up to 2 SIX HOUR shifts during the Pickathon weekend (August 6-August 8). Available shifts are as follows: August 6: Mountain View: 2:00pm-6:00pm, 6:00-11:00pm. Galaxy Barn: 2:00pm-6:00pm, 6:00-11:00pm. August 7: Mountain View: 8:00am-12:00pm, 12:00-4:00pm, 4:00-8:00pm, 8:00-11:00pm. Galaxy Barn-8:00am-12:00pm, 12:00-4:00pm, 4:00-8:00pm, 8:00-11:00pm. . August 8: Mountain View-8:00am-12:00pm, 12:00-4:00pm, 4:00-8:00pm, 8:00-11:00pm. Galaxy Barn-8:00am-12:00pm, 12:00-4:00pm, 4:00-8:00pm, 8:00-11:00pm. Talents and Skills that are helpful: Methods and procedures of quantity food preparation, Kitchen sanitation and safe food storage knowledge, use and care of cooking equipment and utensils, and of course Kitchen safety. Hospitality Volunteers will be responsible for the preparation Delivery / set-up / Break Down / of all Hospitality stations represented at the Pickathon. **2010 Merchandise Volunteer positions are currently FULL. All interested applicants will be placed on a WAIT-LIST ONLY.**

Merchandise table, selling and handling orders and inventory. Working with public and artists as needed. You will be assigned 2 four hour shifts, possibly closing and opening responsibilities. **2010 Massage Professionals Volunteer positions are currently FULL. All interested applicants will be placed on a WAIT-LIST ONLY. **

Licensed Massage Therapists can apply to work on the massage crew that works throughout the festival in the Staff and Artist backstage area. You will be assigned to 3 TWO HOUR shifts during the Pickathon weekend (August 6 - August 8). Available shifts are as follows: August 6: 6:00-8:00pm, 8:00-10:00pm; August 7: 12:00-2:00pm, 2:00-4:00pm, 4:00-6:00pm, 6:00-8:00pm; August 8: 10:00am-12:00pm, 12:00-2:00pm, 2:00-4:00pm, 4:00-6:00pm, 6:00-8:00pm.
