Guy Keltner is a Seattle-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, label owner and festival producer. Best known for his work with the rock & roll band Acid Tongue, he has released six LPs under this moniker via Freakout Records, the label he founded in 2015.
Born in San Francisco in 1987, Keltner is a second generation Mexican American. The family moved to the Seattle area in the early 2000s, and he became actively involved in the local music scene at a young age, performing at all ages venues throughout the region.
In 2013, Keltner founded Freakout Festival, a psychedelic, garage and underground rock event that now spans four days and eight venues in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood. The festival is curated to feature unique headliners such as The Seeds, All Them Witches, Night Beats, Cedric Burnside, and Alex Maas of the Black Angels. The event also has a notable link to Mexico, as well as Central and South America, regularly bringing up dozens of artists from south of the border. In 2021, Freakout Festival collaborated with Mexico City’s Festival NRMAL and Seattle radio station KEXP to curate an expanded lineup of Latin American artists.
Keltner’s band Acid Tongue was founded in 2015, and has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico and the United Kingdom. The band’s music explores themes of adolescence, young love, drug addiction, mental health and sobriety, and Keltner’s lyricism has earned the band a devoted fanbase.
Shortly after founding Acid Tongue, Keltner expanded Freakout Festival to include Freakout Records. The label is an artist-owned & operated entity based in Seattle, and features bands from the Pacific Northwest, Mexico and beyond.
