To put it simply – we’re lucky to have Greg Vandy and the folks of American Standard Time and More Dust Than Digital. Their ability to connect with artists and translate the stories to film in short-doc form is simply amazing.
One of many short-docs that they have produced in the past year is this 12 minute Frank Fairfield portrait that shows an intimate look at one of the great minds of our time.
Having completed the film festival circuit (SXSW, SIIF, ect) and just premiered on IFC – we’re pleased to show the entire clip right here at the ‘ol pickathon.com. After all – the majority of footage was shot out at Pendarvis Farm and it’s just thrilling to relive the excitement of his performances that year.
For more from Vandy and American Standard Time, please check out the AST page and look for other ‘pickathon friendly’ portraits on Alela Diane and Blind Boy Paxton.
