Pharis & Jason Romero create a sound that many of us could listen to for days upon days. American Folk music inspired by yesterday (1930’s), adapted to today. A sound for those that look for, and appreciate that special duo sound; most commonly compared to the harmonies and instrumentation of contemporaries such as Gillian Welch & David Rawlings. We love this sound.
The bands latest release, Long Gone Out West (out 2/5/2013 on their own label) is doing very well within the folk and roots listener communities. Once again the Romero’s give us what we’d anticipate and expect – really great harmonies with amazingly clear and bright banjo.
On top of the music, the couple also make up the core of J. Romero Banjos, which are undoubtedly some of the finest handmade banjos built today. Don’t believe me? Check this review and video out, and then just try and see if you can get your hands on one.
Meet them at this years Pickathon!
