Open Mike Eagle is a talented creative and productive guy. Not only is he an accomplished rapper producing multiple albums, music videos, and a podcast on a consistent basis, he also recently landed a slot on Comedy Central for his series, The New Negroes. While at Pickathon 2016, he took some time to chat with Portia Sabin of The Future of What podcast. Here, Open Mike Eagle shares how he started from the ground up, DIY-style, and why he now considers himself a successful musician.

Read more about their conversation via Vortex Music Magazine here.

The Interview Series premieres a new episode from Pickathon 2016 on the fourth Monday of every month. Catch more episodes from the series on our YouTube channel and join us August 3-6 at the beautiful Pendarvis Farm for the 19th annual Pickathon!
