If you’re familiar with Pickathon, you’ve undoubtedly noticed the fine work of Travis Bone with Furturtle Art Prints. He is our Mascot Maker, Graphics Artist, and Brand Designer Extraordinaire. Each year, we have the pleasure of seeing and experiencing (sometimes wearing) his beautiful artwork.

Travis is the mastermind behind all of the annual mascots and this year’s beloved horse to commemorate 20 years of the festival. He also recently completed an extra special project of limited edition posters for select artists in the 2018 lineup. Stay tuned on Facebook and social media for a new artist poster every day for the next week or so!

Below are posters that have been released so far:
Blind Boys of Alabama
I’m With Her
Built To Spill
Tinariwen

“Zale called me back in 2006 or early 2007 and asked if I would be interested in doing a poster design for a little festival in Oregon. I did and it changed my life 🙂 I’m not sure how he even found my work. I’m really glad that he did, though.

I have always liked to draw but I started learning the software design tools while working at a copy store when I was in high school. I made things for friends’ bands and bands I was in. I started working in music so I could get into shows and be around music as often as I could.

Pickathon is the ongoing project that I am most excited for, which is convenient because it is also taking up the majority of my time!
I am based in Salt Lake City. I was born and raised south of there in Utah County. I love the canyons of the Wasatch Front and spending time outdoors and Salt Lake is close to all of that.

Travis, we’re beyond grateful to have you part of the Pickathon family! Your artwork is a continuous thread that connects everyone that has attended the festival over the years. We have the wonderful opportunity of engaging with your designs leading up to and through our time at Pendarvis Farm. And whether it’s a plate or cup, t-shirt or poster that goes back home with us, you’re providing a lasting memento from the experience.

Thank you so much, Travis! We truly appreciate you and the depth of talents you so generously share with the Pickathon community!
