New Album out Friday August 2nd & headlining sets at Pickathon on Friday August 2nd and Saturday August 3rd.
Kentucky’s Tyler Childers’ story reads like an outlaw country song: coal country kid makes it in Nashville by playing the music of his roots and telling the truth. A natural songwriter, and a devastating storyteller, Childers caught the attention of Kentucky compatriot Sturgill Simpson with his reedy voice and expert skill at banding bluegrass, country, and folk. Simpson produced his breakout album Purgatory, fearlessly grafting buds of rock onto the branches of their hickory country sound. The album caught the roots world unaware in 2017, and Childers has been on tour since, opening for folks like Margo Price and John Prine.
