It’s been a long and hard couple of years for everyone, and we recognize that! At Pickathon 2022, we’re revamping and expanding our Wellness program to bring you more ways to unwind and relax.
At Pickathon 2022, we’re revamping and expanding our Wellness program to bring you more ways to unwind and relax. We’ve mentioned our new Neighborhoods festival redesign, and we’re happy to say that the Refuge will be one of our key Neighborhoods this year. Nestled into the soft forest floor along the path to the Woods Stage, most Pickathon festival goers know the area for the eco showers and massage offerings, but for the past few years we’ve been expanding this into a space for quiet reflection, meditation, and relaxation. With cushions, carpets, and a mini library, it’s a place to escape the crowds and the heat. This year, we’ll be offering morning meditations, soundbaths, performances, DIY aromatherapy, a private breastfeeding station, and open interactive art sessions. Our friends from Make & Mary, a Latina woman & queer owned beauty shop in Portland, will be offering herbalism, botanicals, and iced tea. Make & Mary are also leading the redesign of the Refuge Neighborhood!
Yoga’s always been a big part of Pickathon, especially in the mornings, and this year we’re opening up yoga to the new Orchard Neighborhood as well as the Lucky Neighborhood. Curated by Portland artist and healer Nikki Weaver, Pickathon’s yoga offerings are free to all festival goers and include vinyasa, yin, partner stretch, and flow yoga classes, plus yoga for kids in the new Coyote Family Neighborhood at Pickathon! Highlighted yoga teachers at Pickathon include Bonnie Weeks, Jamie King of Flex and Flow, and Pamela of Delightful Yoga.
Further Wellness offerings throughout the festival include daily Fun Runs in the mornings, massages, foot rubs and tea from Knot Springs at the Windmill Neighborhood, poetry writing classes, singalongs, and more!
Come to Pickathon to unwind and you’ll find a whole festival dedicated to improving community and individual health!
