2024 Artist Highlight: Vincent Neil Emerson

Texas’ Vincent Neil Emerson makes the kind of country that makes you ease just a little bit farther back into your chair.

Don’t mistake that for being sleepy, though. Emerson’s lyrics walk you through some of the tragedies of a Texas upbringing, from love lost to not being able to rub two pennies together.

His songs are catching fire across the country music scene, attracting covers from (Pickathon alum) Charley Crockett and soundtracking cult classic TV show Reservation Dogs.

Sure there’s a lot of Steve Earle and Townes Van Zandt in his music, but he also feeds off the influence of folk legends like Neil Young and Bob Dylan.
