My vision for this project is to create an abstract pine tree sculpture, illuminated with concealed LED lights nestled within its branches. I will use a plasma cutter to fashion each branch into organic shapes, mirroring the natural contours of pine needles and branches. Ensuring a cohesive and distinctive aesthetic, no two branches will be alike. Through a skillful welding process, these branches will be joined in a spiral formation, gradually tapering from larger pieces at the base to smaller ones at the pinnacle. The resulting sculpture will stand taller than the average human height, evoking the majestic presence of a pine tree. As night falls, the sculpture will come alive, emanating a mesmerizing glow as the LED lights hidden within the branches illuminate the surrounding space. This artistic creation aims to reflect the landscape of the Pickathon location, while simultaneously introducing an element of intrigue and discovery within the wilderness.The objective of this project is to create an immersive sculpture that seamlessly combines my signature style of painting landscapes with the artistry of 3D steel craftsmanship.
