Pickathon offers everything you need for an incredible weekend, but there are a few key things you’ll want to bring to make the most of your experience. Here’s your ultimate packing list, categorized for easy reference:
Essentials for Everyone:
- Footwear: Comfortable walking/hiking shoes are a must, as the festival grounds can get dusty.
- Climate Control: Pack layers for both hot days and cool nights.
- Financial Essentials: Bring a credit card or cash for vendor purchases. Your ID is also needed to pick up tickets and purchase alcohol.
- Sun Protection: Pack sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to shield yourself from the sun.
- Hydration: Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the festival. Water is readily available for free on-site.
- Pickathon Cup: While a stainless steel cup can be purchased at the festival, consider bringing your own with a carrying method.
- Expect good cell service, but note that public phones are unavailable. Bring your portable battery chargers or charge your devices for a fee at the solar-powered vendor.
Optional, But Helpful:
- Seating: A low-back lawn chair or blanket can provide a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy the music.
- Portable Charger: Cell service might be limited, so a portable charger can keep your phone powered up (on-site charging is available for a fee).
For Tent Campers:
- Pack light as most everything you need is onsite.
- Pack your camping gear in a way that allows for easy transportation to and from your campsite to the nearest Gear Drop location (which could be located within a range of 10 yards to a 1/3 of a mile up or down trails).
- For more details refer to our Camping Guide.
Food and Drinks:
There’s no need to pack coolers! Pickathon offers a wide variety of delicious and affordable food and drink vendors to keep you satiated all weekend.
Important Reminders:
- Leave your furry friends at home: Pets are strictly prohibited.
- No outside alcohol: Security checks vehicles upon entry. Outside alcohol will be confiscated.
- Respectful Seating: Chairs and blankets left unattended become communal seating. Be neighborly upon your return.
- Leave No Trace: Open fires, fireworks, firearms, and portable shade structures are not permitted. Camp stove usage requires extreme caution.
By packing smart and following these guidelines, you’re all set for a smooth and enjoyable Pickathon experience!
