The Red Stick Ramblers are monsters of Louisiana swing, cajun, western and old-school Jazz (for an easy summation of the band). 2008 Pickathon will be the first time these boys give the Northwest a dose of their fine cajun cooking, and as many of us have heard of the Red Sticks it’s their latest release on Sugar Hill Records – that seems to have gotten the band on the map. Seeing them live is where this band shines, and we will be lucky enough to swing it early in the hours in the Galaxy Barn on one of these nights (in addition to a big dance-off from the main-stage). Uncertain if we will manage an all-niter (like the video)..but we can at least try right? Lets take a look at what we can expect, and for all the hip-swingers out there….take notes, these fellas can lead one hell of a dance. …oh, and who can deny the power of double fiddles? – and the moonshine for that matter.
