We are saddened this day as the news has began to surface about the tragic loss of Hacienda Brothers lead soulman Chris Gaffney. Although nothing official has been released, we are to the understanding that yesterday morning Chris lost his battle with liver cancer, and as you might remember we posted just a short month ago about this battle Chris was facing. He was surrounded by family and was not in pain. Our hearts cry out for this loss as we have held the Hacienda close to the soul of Pickathon since their debut in 2005. Our condolences go out to the band, his family, and all the friends and fans. I am encouraging everyone to reach out and show support, send a note to the band, to the family, or even post on their myspace. This is still at the point where it’s unimaginable, and we are wishing all the best to everyone who is affected by this loss.
