The King of Country..
Friday May 8, 2009

For most, country music can come in many different shapes and sizes. Personally, I prefer the authentic, heartfelt sound with a full country band (pedal steel and fiddle are required). With Dale Watson, Country Music is a way of life. From Truck Drivin’ to Honky Tonkin’, he has lived this well told story, and has the tattoos and song catalog to live up to the expectations. It will be great to have Dale and his Lonestars back out at Pendarvis Farm… They seemed to have a ball in 2007 when out for the first time (funny to think that we could share a band with the Oregon Jamboree)… To this day the Galaxy Barn has not been the same, and what a show to relive again in 2009 (hint…save some energy). Sunday August 2nd we will see two sets by these Texas legends. Bring your boots, hat, and some extra cash, as Mr. Watson has an amazing array of past releases, including his latest, The Truckin’ Sessions: Volume Two . Go get this record as it’s perfect for summer drives.. And really, who else out there would be so bold as to arrange their CD release show as a free “Trucker Appreciation” concert, and perform at an actual Truck Stop?…now that is country!

Oh, and do not forget it’s Mothers Day this weekend…should be a good weekend for getting out in the garden, yard, woods, or even maybe the beach. What ever you do, just make sure Mom feels the love.

Here is a little Hollywood Hillbilly, starring none other than Johnny Knoxville. Great Video, Great song…
