It’s four days away and we’re beginning to feel the excitement and anticipation of this weekend’s Benefest kickoff show. Important to know is that doors have been moved one hour earlier to 7pm with the newly added Zoo Animal starting things off at 8pm, followed by Old Light, and finally The Corin Tucker Band to cap the evening.

Remember that Benefest is 100% benefit for Buckman Arts Elementary and Portland Schools Foundation. We have learned over these past couple months that efforts like this do help and with your support a larger, more collective difference can be made. It is unfortunate and a harsh truth that this additional funding is the responsibility of the parents in order to provide their children with the best form of early education possible. One that acknowledges Art and Music as being important and needed just like Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. In a perfect world it would be great if our Federal, State, and Local Governments would see this importance and make the necessary changes to improve this dire situation. Until that day comes…
