Mountain Man is mountain music. Informed by Appalachian singing traditions, this Vermont trio prove less is more, making whole albums with just vocal harmonies, sometimes sparsely accompanied by acoustic guitar. Mountain Man is Amelia Meath, Molly Sarle, and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig. The Vermonters met in college and their first recorded effort had them on tour with Feist, and The Decemberists, and in the meantime Ameia Meath went on to found Sylvan Esso. In 2018 they returned with Magic Ship, and an EP of John Denver covers. Their leitmotif remains: they’re distilling spirituals, children’s songs, pop, and folk music down to it’s most essential elements.
Don’t miss Mountain Man at Pickathon on our very special early-Thursday kick-off August 1st on the Starlight stage, and Friday August 2nd on the Woods Stage. Tickets are limited and selling fast!
