Your Favorite Stage at Pickathon Is Now…The Woods Neighborhood!

The Woods Stage has always been Pickathon’s most glorious tribute to the beauty of nature! Each year we create this unique sculpture anew, drawing from all natural materials found in the forests around Pendarvis Farm. Now we’re drawing the new Woods Neighborhood even tighter around our breathtaking stage, and you’ll feel total immersion in the woods of Pendarvia. Check out some photos below and you can see the construction going on as we build this neighborhood from the ground up. This year we wanted to pay homage to the turning of the seasons, so we’re using a lot more of materials from the deciduous trees that grow all around the Woods Stage.

We can’t wait to have everyone back, dancing in front of the Woods Stage, drinking at the bar and dancing to vinyl-spinning DJs under the forested eaves, or just hanging out in hammocks and on hay bales, enjoying the cool shade of Pickathon’s leafy natural environment.

Introducing the Brand New Windmill Neighborhood!

Just up the hill from the old Mount Hood stage, the Windmill is our craft stage, tucked in under the trees like a gem in the rough. We’re willing to bet you’ve never noticed there’s an actual windmill out there, but you’ll see it now just behind the stage. We’re opening up this area that was formerly a footpath to camping, and filling it up with handcrafted installations and a full DJ and dance area, plus a carefully curated bar featuring some of our best craft brewers, distillers, vintners, and ciderfolk. Our good friends at EMA Architecture are designing this brand new Neighborhood for us and they’re hard at work now; check out a few of the pictures of the build going on this weekend!

At the Windmill Neighborhood during the day, you’ll gather in the shade for music, literary programming like poetry, author readings, and storytelling, and even maker’s meetups from our many fine purveyors of beer, cider, wine, and spirits. In the evening, the Paddock stage will be rolling just across the meadow, and the Windmill Neighborhood will be your spot for simulcast viewing of that stage at the bar and then late night dance parties with vinyl DJs all through the evening.

The Windmill Neighborhood is a new community gathering space, a chance to draw from a well of inspiration and to meet new friends and follow new ideas at the farm. It’s a deep dive to the heart of craftsmanship at Pickathon!
