Laugh, Learn & Let Loose at the Galaxy and Lucky Barns!

The Galaxy & Lucky Barns Are Back!

We’ve got so many new stages and Neighborhoods at Pickathon this year, but it’s also great to welcome back two of our absolute favorite performance spaces: The Galaxy and Lucky Barns! These vintage structures right on the festival grounds have been expanded and revamped this year, and since we know that COVID is a concern for everyone, we’ve worked hard to bring the programming of our only two indoor spaces to the great outdoors. We’ll be live broadcasting high-def, multi-camera feeds of both venues on screens outside, bringing the indoor to our backyard and providing lots of space to hang out in the fresh air and enjoy our world-class programming.

Let It All Hang Out at the Galaxy Barn!

The Galaxy Barn is known for frenetic, sweat-drenched madness, bringing the pit to Pickathon long into the night. And though Galaxy is known for some of the most hardcore music at Pickathon, we’ve got some interesting surprises in store for you this year! Expect a super late night Cajun dance party from Feufollet on Saturday, a visually spectacular Mardi Gras Indian concert on late Sunday night from 79rs Gang, an early start on Thursday with cutting edge hip-hop from Armand Hammer and more! We’re redesigning the Galaxy Barn this year with new art and a whole new vibe, but you’ll still get to enjoy fresh air conditioning (kind of a big deal!) and the closest experience to some spectacular bands. Check out some new pics of our setup!

Lucky Barn Is Back With Heavy-Hitting Interviews, Podcasters & More!

The Lucky Barn is our very special interview stage! We bring together some of the best music journalists, music writers, and authors to interview artists live on stage in front of an audience. The artists get to dive deep into the inspirations behind their music, share songs with everyone, and the audience gets to ask questions at the end as well. Over the years some incredibly powerful moments have happened on this stage. We’ll have air conditioning back this year as well, but we’ll also be broadcasting out into a large outdoor area. If you haven’t made it in to check out these interviews before, be sure to check them out this year!

Mornings in the Lucky Barn will feature the traditional Pickathon morning yoga sessions, before transitioning at noon to host live podcast recording sessions from podcasting greats like Chapo Trap House. In the late evening, Lucky Barn is turned over to comedy, hosted by Amy Miller and Kyle Kinane. Not bad for a humble little barn!

The Pickathon Ethos: Help Create a Safe & Welcoming Community

Each one of us has a role in making our festival community welcoming and safe! We ask that you speak out if you see unacceptable behavior and be aware of our zero-tolerance policy for harassment and discrimination of any kind.

Pickathon is committed to making your experience safe. Therefore, we pledge to take immediate action – up to and including removal from the grounds – against those creating unsafe spaces for festival attendees. This policy applies to everyone including musicians, poets, press, staff, volunteers, security and patrons. In the event of emergency, we have security hotline numbers you can contact, which are available on our website HERE, along with more detailed information about our policies and information about consent and sexual harassment prevention.
