For Pickathon 2023, we’ll be introducing a brand-new Neighborhood: Farmhouse! The Farmhouse Neighborhood will be the front gate to Pickathon, so it will be the first place you see when you step foot on the farm. Big thanks to Hoffman Construction Company, Precision Construction, and Clackamas Academy of Industrial Sciences (CAIS) who are building out this new Neighborhood. Here’s their plan:
”Our idea was to create a sculptural landmark to bring a little grandeur to the festival’s entrance and gateway. The structure takes its formal cues from our own Mt. Hood and employs a log cabin-like stacking structure –using dimensional lumber generously donated by Hampton Lumber.
This intervention will be adjacent to the Orchard Neighborhood, will showcase the iconic Pickathon letters and pay homage by recalling the legendary Main Stage vista. It transports Mt. Hood to Pickathon and Pendarvis Farm’s front yard…where people can congregate, meet fellow festival attendees, and use it as a backdrop for their group photos and selfies. Post your pics on social media and tag it with “#MtPickathon”!”
