Introducing Mountains of Sound—a striking new installation that reimagines the Northwest’s most iconic peaks as an interactive soundscape. Inspired by Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Adams, these sculpted forms are more than visual landmarks—they’re places to gather, explore, and resonate with the energy of Pickathon.
Designed by the visionary team at West of West and constructed in partnership with Turner Construction, Mountains of Sound transforms familiar silhouettes into playable topographies—structures that hum, echo, and vibrate with touch and movement. The installation is embedded with acoustic and tactile elements, inviting participants to step inside, listen closely, and interact physically.
Each mountain can be walked through or explored from beneath, creating layered spaces for discovery, rest, and play. At the heart of the installation stands the tallest peak, which will serve as a DJ stage—turning the mountain itself into a living amplifier for collective experience. It’s not just a stage, it’s a sonic monument.
Rooted in community values, Mountains of Sound is also designed with sustainability and legacy in mind. After the festival, its materials will be donated to agricultural nonprofits across Oregon, including Kindness Farms, where they’ll be repurposed to support regenerative, community-focused work.
More than a stage. More than a sculpture. Mountains of Sound is a place to find your bearings—and lose yourself in sound. Join us in the Market Neighborhood and experience this bold new centerpiece of Pickathon 2025.
