I work with previously played instrument strings (guitar, bass, and piano) to create jewelry and kinetic mobiles. The strings have a juxtaposition of delicacy and durability with their fine wound detailing and strong steel core. I break the strings down into small segments and obscure them beyond recognition. I sketch each design and draw from my background in architecture to create proportion-studied and modern shapes. Semi-precious gemstones, sterling, and gold-filled findings elevate each piece.
As a designer, I am interested in sustainability, curiosity, and elegance. I strive to inspire conversations and engage people visually and physically with my art. The layered textures, colors, and movement through engineered hinges aim to draw you in, hoping you will question what you’re looking at. Enjoy!
