Kelly will guide you through a cacao journey paired with sensual embodiment. True ceremonial cacao is ceremonial before it’s even planted as a seed, as indigenous cacao artisans bless and intentionally choose the land they decide to plant the cacao seeds and harvest the cacao pods. Kelly will serve you a warm cup of ceremonial cacao and introduce the origins of where it came from. This heart-opening medicine will support everyone through gentle guided movements, and transition you into an introspective meditation. There will be 60 cacao beverages available as a first-come-first-served basis.
Kelly Viernes-Kauppi (she/they) is a community-driven facilitator. She has been drawn to ceremonial cacao since it was first introduced to her and some close friends in an intentional way by Xochitl Budreau. Kelly felt emotionally attuned to the sacredness of this heartfelt plant medicine, and to those in attendance of this gathering. Kelly wanted to share cacao with others in an ethical way, and learned about cacao’s history, scientific benefits, preparation methods, and rituals from Soul Lift Cacao’s “Cacao Powered Facilitator” program, and Ixquik Lopez Zavala’s, “The Spirituality of Cacao in Ceremony” course. Kelly is a devoted student and teacher of yoga, and an inpatient acute care certified occupational therapy assistant, learning to decolonize her future and cultivate community liberation.
