Erica Berry’s nonfiction debut, Wolfish: Wolf, Self, and the Stories We Tell About Fear (Flatiron/Macmillan, 2023) is a kaleidoscopic blend of memoir, journalism, science, myth, and cultural criticism, and has been recommended by publications such as Vulture, The Washington Post, Salon, TIME, Harpers Bazaar, Scientific American, and The Los Angeles Times, who wrote “What do we fear, and when, and why? This book should be required reading.” Berry’s essays appear in the New York Times Magazine, the Guardian, Outside, The Yale Review, and WIRED, among other places.
