After exploring folk and country directions on their 2021 EP “Big Fall,” Philadelphia country rock band Florry has returned with their debut album “Dear Life” featuring four songs with sweet guitar solos. It seems like the band has found their stride, possibly due to the directions they received.

The album comprises various outtakes recorded between 2021 and 2022, showcasing the band’s versatility as they transition from a four-piece lineup to a seven-piece band with two to three guitars, fiddle, pedal steel, and vocal accompaniment. Florry’s music spans genres like raggedy alt-country, cowpunk, and country rock, but above all, it’s clear that they’re having fun.

The electric version of the 2021 track “Big Fall” features frontwoman Francie Medosch, bassist Jared Radichel, second guitarist John Murray, and drummer Joey Sullivan. “When I Kicked You Out of the Band (I Wasn’t Kicking You Out Of My Life)” sees the band adding vocal accompanist/acoustic guitar player Victoria Rose and fiddle player Will Henriksen, with Murray on lap steel. The band’s current lineup is showcased on “Cowgirl in a Ditch,” with Murray back on guitar and Sam Silbert on pedal steel. Additionally, the band covers “Lisa’s Birthday” by the Drive-By Truckers.
