My Voice Music (MVM) is a nonprofit music organization based in SE Portland that empowers youth to share their stories and express themselves through music. Operating from a pay-what-you-can music center and recording studio, MVM provides a creative and supportive space where young artists grow, collaborate, and take the stage. Each year at Pickathon, MVM curates a special showcase that highlights emerging talent from their programs, offering festivalgoers a glimpse into the next generation of Portland’s music scene.
This year’s My Voice Music Showcase on the Coyote Stage features FRENZI, a rising youth band born out of MVM’s Amplify high school program. Now honing their sound through the MVM Band on Demand sessions, FRENZI delivers a fresh yet nostalgic alt-rock style influenced by 90s legends like Nirvana and Mazzy Star, as well as modern acts like Title Fight and Wednesday. Known for their raw energy, compelling lyrics, and standout live sets—including performances at PDX Pop Now! and features on XRAY.FM—FRENZI is carving out a unique space in Portland’s indie rock scene and bringing their voice to a larger stage at Pickathon.
