Red Yarn (aka Andy Furgeson) is a Texas-born, Oregon-based family performer who weaves roots music and puppetry into engaging shows for all ages. Performing alongside his wife & singing partner Ms. Jessie, their full band, and a suitcase full of “critter” puppets, Red Yarn’s shows are a raucous celebration of the USA’s multicultural musical heritage. At Pickathon 2026, the Red Yarn Band will perform their signature blend of traditional and original family folk-rock tunes, puppet skits, and even a few songs from their upcoming puppet musical!

Red Yarn & his family band have performed at Austin City Limits Festival, South by Southwest, Pilgrimage, Stagecoach, Wolf Trap, Symphony Space, and family venues across the country. He has been declared “Portland’s Best Kindie Performer” for nine years straight in the PDX Parent Reader Favorites poll!
