Sindya Bhanoo is the 2023 winner of the Ken Kesey Oregon Book Award for fiction. Her debut collection, Seeking Fortune Elsewhere was a finalist for the Pen/Bingham Award and the winner of the New American Voices Award. A longtime newspaper reporter, she has reported for The New York Times and The Washington Post. She lives in Corvallis, Oregon and is an Assistant Professor at Oregon State University.
