More Than a Market: A Mountain of Sound Rises at Pickathon
For 25 years, the heart of Pickathon has been its vibrant, communal spaces. This year, we’re not just reimagining that heart—we’re giving it a new peak. Welcome to the Market Neighborhood, reborn and anchored by a new landmark rising in its center.
At the heart of this transformation is the Mountain of Sound. This monumental art installation, a stunning new concept designed by the innovative architecture studio West of West and brought to life by the incredible builders at Turner, is the new focal point of our festival bazaar. It’s a beacon you can see from across the farm, a visual and auditory spectacle where the echoes of past performances and the vibrant hum of the present moment converge. The Mountain of Sound is more than an installation; it’s a new destination, a meeting place, and the pulse of the entire festival, drawing all paths toward its core.
At the foot of this new peak, the bustling bazaar you know and love thrives with renewed energy. This is your destination for some of the best food and drink at Pickathon and a curated lineup of the Northwest’s finest craft vendors. We’ve created an abundance of shaded tables, making it the perfect spot to gather your friends, spread out, and enjoy an incredible outdoor meal together. Nearby, as part of the new town center design, you can discover the brand-new lounge and DJ area right next to the Market Bar. With its own dedicated soundtrack, it’s the ideal spot to chill out day or night while gazing up at the new icon towering above.
As evening arrives, the entire neighborhood comes alive with light. The Market gateway, a blend of forest-inspired lighting and colorful market lanterns, marks your transition from the wooded calm of the Refuge and Woods trails into the buzz of this revitalized community hub, with the glowing Mountain of Sound as your central guide.
Whether you're here to shop, snack, sip, or simply slow down, the Market Neighborhood is a place to connect. This year, you can connect with local makers, with new friends, and with the very pulse of the festival itself. We’ll see you at the Mountain.
