We wait for the sun to drop behind the tree line before opening this massive, open-air bowl. It is the best place on the farm to watch the sunset and serves as our collective "living room" under the sky. Each year, we redesign the perimeter to create a new architectural horizon, defining the space where thousands of people move together to the biggest sounds of the weekend.
For 2026, Scott Edwards Architecture (SEA) presents Synthesis, a new stage concept built around a modular system originally designed for the future expansion of Portland’s Q-Side Skatepark in Old Town.
Developed through a collaborative process between architects, builders, and community partners, the stage transforms future skatepark infrastructure into an immersive environment inspired by the movement and flow of skateboarding itself.
Built in collaboration with Home Building Foundation, the Building to Scale program, Bremik Construction, Holmes Engineering, P:EAR, and Garden Fever, Synthesis continues Pickathon’s focus on placemaking, workforce training, sustainability, and long-term community impact.
After Pickathon 2026, the modular parts from the stage will be repurposed for their intended destination—Q-Side Skatepark—extending the life of the project beyond the festival and back into Portland’s Old Town neighborhood.
