Windmill Neighborhood 2024 – Sneak Peek
Monday June 10, 2024

Windmill Neighborhood is tucked into a shady respite in the forest above Paddock. Our installations of interactive and experiential elements utilize lightweight fabrics, theatrical lighting, bamboo, and reclaimed materials that make visible the force and elegant shapes of WIND in its many forms.

In the hot, dry August days, we want to embrace the forest’s coolness and its summer breezes in Windmill’s hangout spots. See the daytime music transform sound waves into visual frequencies on modular panels behind the band. Experiment with your own musical talents at the busking station or hand-built windchimes. Grab a bevie from the windswept bar or the vendor booths clad in exploded windmill blades and enjoy sitting under the tree canopy.

At night, flowing fabrics above the DJ dance space transform the magnetic energy of solar wind: the Aurora Borealis. Grab a giant fan and see how you can act like the Greek God of the northern winds, Boreas, to cool your friends or shape the dancing waves of color overhead.

Design collaborators are Kaleido Studio, Pinnacle Architecture, Steven Tatar Studio, and eTribe.
