Morning Hikes to Scouters Mountain 8/4, 8/5, 8/6 from 8:00am-9:30am
Join Happy Valley City Councilor (and big Pickathon fan) Brett Sherman and the Happy Valley Hikers as they host a 3.5 mile hike from Pendarvis Farm up into the Scouters Mountain Nature Park. This is a hilly, difficult route with groomed trails, meandering through the some nice woods, growing neighborhoods and (hopefully) wetlands. You will hike on varied surfaces, so good walking shoes recommended. Moderate-pace, recommended for those comfortable with 20-minute miles. Sorry, no dogs are allowed in the nature park, but energetic kids are always welcome! Note, we leave right on time, so try to arrive a few minutes early.
Brett has been a city councilor in Happy Valley for the past 9 years and is an avid hiker. He founded the Happy Valley Hikers back in 2006, and has led well over 1,000 hikes in the area over the years. He grew up in Minnesota, and while sometimes missing the snow, he doesn’t miss the mosquitos.
